1. DEPARTURE DATE ANNOUNCED
Mark your calendars! The WaterWorks river journey will officially begin over Labor Day Weekend on Sunday 04.September, 2005. The vessel will be launched into Lake Chautauqua at a time and place yet to be determined. More details about the launch will be posted in this newsletter and on the website as they become available.

2. SCHOOL RESPONSE UPDATE
The initial response from the schools near the rivers that were contacted with regards to the WaterWorks educational program has been excellent! Nearly 20 schools containing a total of over 2,000 fourth-grade students have already responded with interest in the program. These numbers will likely grow a bit more as schools continue to respond throughout the summer and into the fall.

3. CHAUTAUQUA BOYS & GIRLS CLUB PROGRAM
River WaterWorks is scheduled to do an educational program this summer during the week of July 18 th with the Boys & Girls Club at the Chautauqua Institution in Chautauqua, NY. The education program will consist of hands-on activities to promote the understanding of basic watershed and groundwater principles. 4. SEA ALUMNI AND TRUSTEES PRESENTATIONS
During the weekend of June 18, 2005 the WaterWorks project was introduced to the Alumni and Board of Trustees of the Sea Education Association (SEA). SEA is an educational institution that provides a platform for oceanographic research aboard one if its two sail training vessels. SEA is also a significant financial supporter of the WaterWorks project through the 2005 Armin Elsaesser III Fellowship, which was awarded to River WaterWorks earlier this year. 5. INVENTION RESOURCE DATABASE: VESSEL UPDATE
The WaterWorks vessel is an 18' pontoon boat that is being modified to have an accommodations space and a bicycle powered propulsion system. The progress of these vessel modifications is being posted on the Invention Resource Database (InventionDB). InventionDB is a new web resource currently in its beta-version designed to provide a medium for people to archive, share, and search for creative projects and resources.
